Computed quantification of the extent of pleuropulmonary trauma by CT and comparison with conventional chest x-ray--Impact on therapy and correlation with mechanical ventilation support and clinical outcome. ⋯ CT allows rapid classification and quantification of pulmonary lesions after thoracic trauma and provides higher sensitivity and reliability. Because of the great correlation with the extent of artificial respiration in respect of duration and pressure, prognosis of the individual patient, as well as a differential therapy, appear possible.

The purpose of this study was to compare HASTE-sequence with T2-weighted TSE-sequence in the detection of cervical myelopathy and cervical spinal stenosis in kinematic MRI. ⋯ T2-TSE-sequence is superior to HASTE-sequence in the delineation of anatomical structures of the cervical spine, the grading of cervical spinal stenosis and the evaluation of cervical myelopathy.

[Dynamic and static MRI using superparamagnetic MRI contrast medium Resovist for visualizing primary and secondary liver tumors].
To analyse characteristics of benign and malignant liver tumours in dynamic and static MR imaging with the superparamagnetic MR contrast medium Resovist. ⋯ Dynamic and static versus plain MR imaging of primary and secondary liver lesions is markedly improved by the superparamagnetic contrast material Resovist, especially in case of intravenous bolus application of this liver-specific contrast medium.

[Morphology and contrast enhancement of ductal carcinoma in situ in dynamic 1.0 T MR mammography].
The detectability with magnetic resonance mammography (MR-M) of non-invasive ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), its morphology, and patterns of contrast enhancement were studied. ⋯ Ductal carcinoma in situ is not reliably detectable by MR-mammography alone due to lack of a uniform pattern of enhancement.

[Can digital selenium-based radiography in thoracic diagnosis replace the analog x-ray imaging technic?].
To find out the diagnostic value of digital selenium radiography, we compared the image quality of chest x-ray images from 50 patients who had been examined via conventional chest x-ray and digital selenium radiography of the chest. ⋯ Compared to analogous techniques there is no loss of image information when employing digital selenium radiography in chest x-rays. On the contrary, new assessment criteria may be gained. We conclude that digital selenium radiography offers diagnostic advantages in chest x-ray examination.
