Neuromodulation is considered in patients with non-neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) not responsive to conservative treatment. ⋯ Sacral neuromodulation can improve low urinary tract symptoms in selected patients; it appears to be a safe therapy for nonresponders to standard medical therapies. Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) is a less invasive technique that gives good results in short time with fewer side effects. However, we must consider that PTNS has not been tested in the long term and results are lower if compared with SNM.

The Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) is the most commonly used scoring system in prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). One of the available techniques to target suspicious lesions is direct in-bore MRI-guided biopsy (MRGB). ⋯ In daily clinical practice, direct in-bore magnetic resonance imaging-guided biopsy of suspicious lesions reported according to the Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System yields high detection rates of clinically significant prostate cancer.

Recent large high-quality trials have questioned the clinical effectiveness of medical expulsive therapy using tamsulosin for ureteral stones. ⋯ In this report, we looked at the efficacy and safety of tamsulosin for the treatment of distal ureteral stones. We find that tamsulosin significantly facilitates the passage of distal ureteral stones and relieves renal colic.

Outcomes After Cryoablation Versus Partial Nephrectomy for Sporadic Renal Tumors in a Solitary Kidney: A Propensity Score Analysis.
While partial nephrectomy (PN) is considered the standard approach for a tumor in a solitary kidney, percutaneous cryoablation (PCA) is emerging as an alternative nephron-sparing option. ⋯ Partial nephrectomy (surgery) and percutaneous cryoablation are both options for treating a kidney tumor while preserving the normal portion of the kidney. In patients with a tumor in their only kidney, we found no difference in the risk of complications, kidney function outcomes, or cancer control outcomes between these two approaches.

Adjuvant Sunitinib for High-risk Renal Cell Carcinoma After Nephrectomy: Subgroup Analyses and Updated Overall Survival Results.
Adjuvant sunitinib significantly improved disease-free survival (DFS) versus placebo in patients with locoregional renal cell carcinoma (RCC) at high risk of recurrence after nephrectomy (hazard ratio [HR] 0.76, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.59-0.98; p=0.03). ⋯ Most subgroups of patients at high risk of recurrent renal cell carcinoma after nephrectomy experienced a clinical benefit with adjuvant sunitinib.
