Micropunch grafting is the simplest surgical intervention for refractory vitiligo but is tedious and time-consuming. Therefore, we aimed to verify the efficacy and safety of dermal orientation grafting using motorized 0.5-mm micropunch grafting for vitiligo. In a preliminary animal study, 12-week-old rats were used to observe the healing process after the transplantation of dermal orientation grafts with various punch sizes. ⋯ In the clinical trial, treatment success was achieved in 72% and 76% of the epidermal and dermal orientation groups, respectively; a cobblestone appearance was observed in 4% and 2%, respectively. In conclusion, we demonstrated that this new grafting method irrespective of epidermal-dermal orientation using motorized 0.5-mm micropunch grafting was effective and safe. We have named this the "skin seeding technique" and it differs from traditional punch grafting in that it can be performed regardless of the graft orientation.

Sebaceous carcinoma is a rare malignant skin neoplasm arising from sebaceous glands. Its clinical diagnosis is difficult and reports of dermoscopic findings have been limited. This study aims to analyze its dermoscopic features and differential diagnosis in dermoscopic examination. ⋯ In dermoscopic analysis of sebaceous carcinoma, the majority of tumors (66.67%) presented polymorphic vessel pattern. Other features included whitish-pink areas (80%), yellowish structures (73.33%) and yellowish structureless areas (60%). Yellowish structures in sebaceous carcinomas are the main dermoscopic findings to differentiate squamous cell and basal cell carcinomas (P < 0.001), whereas purplish globules, shiny white blotches and strands and whitish-pink area distinguish sebaceous carcinomas from other sebaceous tumors (P < 0.05).

Immune-related adverse events (irAE) were reported to be associated with better outcomes in various cancers treated with the immune checkpoint inhibitor nivolumab. Considering that their development depends on host immune activation, irAE may reflect antitumor response in mucosal melanoma (MM). This single-center retrospective study including patients with advanced MM receiving nivolumab monotherapy between August 2014 and September 2018 investigated whether the development of irAE was associated with clinical efficacy. ⋯ Although 16 patients (59%) experienced any grade irAE, including three (11%) with grade 3 or more irAE, there were no treatment-related deaths. These results indicated that the development of irAE may correlate with improved survival in patients with MM treated with nivolumab monotherapy. Further studies are necessary to confirm these findings.
