Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical Trial
Standard and increased-dose BEACOPP chemotherapy compared with COPP-ABVD for advanced Hodgkin's disease.
Faced with unsatisfactory results of treatment for advanced Hodgkin's disease, we investigated three combinations of chemotherapy. ⋯ Increased-dose BEACOPP resulted in better tumor control and overall survival than did COPP-ABVD.

Involved-field radiotherapy for advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma.
The use of involved-field radiotherapy after chemotherapy for advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma is controversial. ⋯ Involved-field radiotherapy did not improve the outcome in patients with advanced-stage Hodgkin's lymphoma who had a complete remission after MOPP-ABV chemotherapy. Radiotherapy may benefit patients with a partial response after chemotherapy.

Prevention of recurrent preterm delivery by 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate.
Women who have had a spontaneous preterm delivery are at greatly increased risk for preterm delivery in subsequent pregnancies. The results of several small trials have suggested that 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate (17P) may reduce the risk of preterm delivery. ⋯ Weekly injections of 17P resulted in a substantial reduction in the rate of recurrent preterm delivery among women who were at particularly high risk for preterm delivery and reduced the likelihood of several complications in their infants.
