Chlorthalidone for Hypertension in Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease.
Little evidence has been available to support the use of thiazide diuretics to treat hypertension in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease. ⋯ Among patients with advanced chronic kidney disease and poorly controlled hypertension, chlorthalidone therapy improved blood-pressure control at 12 weeks as compared with placebo. Children with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection have limited options for effective antiretroviral treatment (ART). ⋯ In this trial involving children and adolescents with HIV-1 infection who were starting first- or second-line treatment, dolutegravir-based ART was superior to standard care.
