Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Trial of Endovascular Therapy for Acute Ischemic Stroke with Large Infarct.
The role of endovascular therapy for acute stroke with a large infarction has not been extensively studied in differing populations. ⋯ In a trial conducted in China, patients with large cerebral infarctions had better outcomes with endovascular therapy administered within 24 hours than with medical management alone but had more intracranial hemorrhages. (Funded by Covidien Healthcare International Trading [Shanghai] and others; ANGEL-ASPECT ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04551664.).

Randomized Controlled Trial
Postexposure Doxycycline to Prevent Bacterial Sexually Transmitted Infections.
Interventions to reduce sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among men who have sex with men (MSM) are needed. ⋯ The combined incidence of gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis was lower by two thirds with doxycycline postexposure prophylaxis than with standard care, a finding that supports its use among MSM with recent bacterial STIs. (Funded by the National Institutes of Health; DoxyPEP ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT03980223.).
