ED staff lack adequate exposure to critical pediatric patients to develop competence and confidence in resuscitation scenarios. Simulations of various designs have shown success at increasing health care staff performance and self-efficacy. ⋯ In situ low-fidelity simulations led by RNs contributed to significant improvement in adherence to resuscitation guidelines and in staff confidence. The simulation design had minimal impact on staffing and budget and enabled identification and correction of systems issues.
