ReviewCongenital cystic neck masses: embryology and imaging appearances, with clinicopathological correlation.
Congenital cystic masses of the neck are uncommon and can present in any age group. Diagnosis of these lesions can be sometimes challenging. ⋯ The other congenital cystic neck masses are branchial cleft cyst, cystic hygroma (lymphangioma), cervical thymic and bronchogenic cysts, and the floor of the mouth lesions including dermoid and epidermoid cysts. In this review, we illustrate the common congenital cystic neck masses including embryology, clinical findings, imaging features, and histopathological findings.

ReviewEffective use of low-dose computed tomography lung cancer screening.
Lung cancer screening programs for high-risk populations using low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) have been shown by a class I clinical trial to reduce lung cancer mortality by 20%. We present an overview of randomized and nonrandomized lung cancer screening trials and review some of the arguments advocating for or against the widespread implementation of such a screening program. Concerns regarding the use of LDCT screening for lung cancer include increased risk from radiation exposure, overdiagnosis of indolent tumors, and high numbers of false-positive results, which may increase patient anxiety and result in unnecessary procedures with potential complications. Current recommendations regarding diagnostic criteria and workup of positive screens as well as the risks and benefits of using LDCT for lung cancer screening are provided.

Role of virtual bronchoscopy in the evaluation of bronchial lesions: a pictorial essay.
Bronchoscopy is an important diagnostic method for the tracheobronchial, thoracic, and mediastinal lesions. It is limited by the physical progression of the bronchoscope. This represents a problem when assessing difficult airways, such as a lumen narrowed from any cause. ⋯ Also, it can be done as a preliminary evaluation before FOB. VB is not effective for the detection of subtle mucosal abnormalities, such as erythema or early sessile lesions. The aim of this pectoral essay is to present overview of VB and the author's experience of using of VB, based on computed tomography data, in diagnosis of different tracheobronchial lesions.
