To examine the validity of behaviours and fluctuations in vital signs for pain assessment of postbrain surgery adults in the neurosurgical intensive care unit. ⋯ Behaviours were found valid indicators of pain in neurocritically ill patients after elective brain surgery. Fluctuations in vital signs may suggest the presence of pain, but their validity for such use is not supported. They should only be used in combination with other validated pain assessment methods.

To report a concept analysis of nursing-sensitive indicators within the applied context of the acute care setting. ⋯ This concept analysis may be used as a basis to advance understandings of the theoretical structures that underpin both research and practical application of quality dimensions of nursing care performance.

Comparative Study
Barriers to sexual expression in residential aged care facilities (RACFs): comparison of staff and residents' views.
To explore and compare the views of both staff and residents about barriers to sexual expression in residential aged care facilities. ⋯ A substantial number of residents were unable to identify or mention barriers to sexual expression. Generational factors and group pressure could affect residents' attitudes towards sexuality.

To study the impact of role, job- and organizational characteristics on nurse managers' work related stress and well-being such as feelings of emotional exhaustion, work engagement, job satisfaction and turnover intention. ⋯ Several risk factors and stimulating factors influencing nurse unit managers' work related stress and well-being were identified. Further challenges will be to develop proper interventions and strategies to support nursing unit managers and their team in daily practice to deliver the best and safest patient care.
