Efficacy of integuseal for surgical skin preparation in children and adolescents undergoing scoliosis correction.
Prospective randomized trial. ⋯ Although microbial sealant may be a useful addition to a multimodal approach to minimize surgical site infection, there is currently insufficient evidence as to whether the use of microbial sealants reduces the risk of surgical site infection in patients undergoing scoliosis surgery.
-
A prospectively study. ⋯ Our data suggest that the surgical procedure of asymmetrical PSO is to correct the scoliosis, to restore the lumbar lordosis by way of convex-sided posterolateral wedge osteotomy, and may go a long way toward solving the problems of rigid lumbar degenerative kyphoscoliosis.

In vivo 3-dimensional (3D) study of the thoracic spine. ⋯ In vivo 3D ARs and coupled motions of the consecutive thoracic spinal segments in trunk rotation were investigated accurately for the first time.
-
A prospective cohort study. ⋯ Vitamin D deficiency was common in patients with LSS. However, vitamin D status was improved after decompressive surgery, and postoperative 25-OHD level was significantly correlated with surgical outcomes.
-
Retrospective case series. ⋯ ITFN is a safe, accurate, and effective tool for screw placement in patients with symptomatic os odontoideum.
