Prospective follow-up study. ⋯ There is variation between observers in the identification of an intravertebral cleft, and the identification of an intravertebral cleft is not always straightforward. For preoperative assessment, we recommend MRI with T1-weighted and STIR sequences. Regarding patient-reported outcome, patients with long-standing OVCFs with intravertebral clefts benefit from PVP, but, compared with patients with OVCFs without intravertebral clefts, the benefit obtained was not superior and may be delayed.

Retrospective clinical case series. ⋯ PEISR, combined with WO, through a single posterior approach is a technically challenging but safe and effective procedure for severe rigid scoliosis. This posterior-only approach allows for dramatic radiographical correction that surpasses that reported for posterior VCR.

Multicenter Study
Use and outcomes of wound drain in spinal fusion for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
A multicenter retrospective analysis. ⋯ More patients tended to receive wound drains than not receive wound drains. Drains did not impact complication rate and drained patients received more blood product. There are no universal criteria for draining and practice patterns vary widely.
-
Prospective cohort with concurrent controls. ⋯ The Vitronic 3D Body Scanner has sufficient accuracy, reliability, and validity to monitor torso asymmetry due to scoliosis. Scan-based measures differentiate between normal and pathological and between preoperative and postoperative body shape and show good correlation with measures of appearance and quality of life.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Supervised exercise with and without spinal manipulation performs similarly and better than home exercise for chronic neck pain: a randomized controlled trial.
Randomized controlled trial using mixed methods. ⋯ Supervised strengthening exercise with and without spinal manipulation performed similarly, yielding better outcomes than home exercise particularly in the short term. Various stakeholders' perspectives should be considered carefully when making recommendations regarding these therapies, taking into account side effects, preferences, and costs.
