Retrospective cross-sectional analysis of administrative data. ⋯ Both the supply of chiropractors and the utilization of chiropractic by older US adults varied widely by region. Increased chiropractic supply was associated with increased chiropractic use but not with increased chiropractic utilization intensity. Utilization of chiropractic care is likely sensitive to both supply and patient preference.

A cadaver and radiological study. ⋯ The precise projection of nerve roots to the posterior aspect of spine and intraspinal take-off angles at the sagittal plane have been presented. Surgical interventions of the lumbar disc and nerve root may benefit from this quantitative anatomical study.

A retrospective analysis was performed. ⋯ To our knowledge this study demonstrates the first reported SSEP alerts that were associated with a posterior lumbar interbody cage placement without a corresponding EMG alert.

Retrospective cost-effectiveness analysis. ⋯ This cost-effectiveness analysis reports favorable results for ACDF procedures utilizing a tantalum implant. The data reported suggest that using porous tantalum as a stand-alone device is less costly and more effective than autograft and plate in ACDF procedures.

An in vitro biomechanical study on 3-dimensional flexibility of human lumbosacral motion segments after multiple freeze-thaw cycles and cumulative testing. ⋯ The flexibility of the human cadaveric lumbosacral motion segments between test days was significantly affected after repeated freeze-thaw and cumulative testing cycles. Multiple freeze-thaw cycles and cumulative testing, however, does not affect flexibility data for tests carried out within a single test day.
