Retrospective cohort study. ⋯ Our series demonstrate a two-fold reduction of SSI with implementation of PPSA regimen. This benefit was demonstrated separately for both cervical and lumbar regions. Randomized trials and increase in sample size are warranted to elucidate the significance of PPSA in posterior spinal surgery.Level of Evidence: 3.

Cross-sectional study. ⋯ Expenditures have increased over time in adults with SRDs. PS is significantly associated with expenditures after controlling for predisposing and enabling factors, but not significant after controlling for need factors. Need factors appear to explain the relationship between lower levels of PS and higher HCE in adults with SRDs.Level of Evidence: 2.

Micro-computed tomography- (micro-CT-) based finite element analysis of cadaveric human lumbar vertebrae virtually implanted with total disc arthroplasty (TDA) implants. ⋯ Typically-sized TDA implants disproportionately increase the bone-tissue stress in more porous vertebrae; this affect is accentuated when the implant impinges in sagittal bending.Level of Evidence: N/A.

Multicenter Study Observational Study
Pain During Sex Before and After Decompressive Surgery for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis: A Multicenter Observational Study.
Observational multicenter study. ⋯ This study clearly demonstrates that a large proportion of patients undergoing surgery for LSS experienced an improvement in pain during sexual activity at 1 year.Level of Evidence: 2.
