Retrospective cohort study. ⋯ Opportunistic HUs strongly correlated with BCT-based measures, while neither correlated strongly with DXA-based BMD measures in the thoracolumbar spine. HUs are easy to perform at no additional cost and provide accurate BMD estimates at noninstrumented vertebral levels across all American College of Radiology-designated BMD categories.

Facet Joint Morphology and Tropism in Adolescents: Association with Lumbar Disc Herniation and Spondylolysis.
A cross-sectional and observational study. ⋯ Facet tropism in adolescents is similar in the axial and sagittal planes. Facet tropism and specific morphology may be related to lumbar disk herniation and spondylolysis in this age group.

Retrospective case series. ⋯ The effects of posterior decompression surgery alone can still be observed at least 2 years postoperatively for patients with LSS and concomitant sagittal MA. Patients with sagittal MA may experience lower HRQOL than those without this type of MA.

Clinical experimental diagnostic study. ⋯ This study demonstrates the utility of zero echo time MRI and CT-based Micromotion Analysis in detecting subtle yet clinically relevant vertebral motions influencing the foramina in the cervical spine during the Spurling maneuver. These findings could lead to a better understanding and potentially improved diagnostic strategies for cervical foraminal stenosis, although further research with a larger cohort is necessary to confirm these results.
