Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data. ⋯ Open TLIF was found to have a significantly higher rate of reoperation due to ASD compared with the MIS approach. In addition, the surgical approach (MIS vs . open) seems to be an independent predictor of reoperation rates.

A retrospective cohort study using the 2010-2020 MSpine PearlDiver administrative data set. ⋯ The current study is the largest to date to compare short-term adverse events and five-year revision rates between single-level ACDF and PCF for nonmyelopathy elective cases. Perioperative adverse events differed by procedure, and it was notable that the incidence of cumulative revisions was higher for PCF. These findings can be used in decision-making when there is clinical equipoise between ACDF and PCF.

This is a basic science, animal research study. ⋯ This is the first proof-of-concept study indicating that diclofenac sodium is effective in alleviating rhBMP-2-induced neuroinflammation. This can potentially impact the clinical management of rhBMP-2-induced radiculitis. It also presents a viable rodent model for evaluating the effectiveness of analgesics in reducing rhBMP-2-induced inflammation.
