Retrospective cohort study. ⋯ This study demonstrated that our novel TSRT anterior release technique demonstrated complication rates similar to those published in the literature for posterior release. TSRT can be used as an alternative to posterior release techniques for refractory cases or when a posterior approach is not considered viable.

Retrospective analysis of longitudinal data. ⋯ Notably, the self-image domain showed the largest change compared to other SRS-22r domains. A low pre-surgery score increases the likelihood of clinical benefit from surgery. These findings demonstrate the utility of SDC for assessing the benefits and factors that may underpin surgical benefit in AIS.

Prospective quasi-experimental observational study. ⋯ This study identified distinct neurocognitive effects after spine surgery, which are influenced by perioperative risk factors. Potential cognitive benefits are counteracted by POD, rendering its prevention critical in an aging population.

Controlled animal study. ⋯ The cellular component of autograft is important for spinal fusion. Adherent graft cells seem to be the more important cellular component in the rabbit model. Autograft left dry on the back table showed a rapid decline in cell viability and fusion but was maintained with storage in saline.
