A retrospective case-control study. ⋯ The FT on the sagittal, axial, and coronal planes are all associated with CDH in the subaxial cervical spine. The greater facet angle at the left or right side does not affect the side of herniation. The severity of cervical disc degeneration is not associated with FT.Level of Evidence: 3.
-
An experimental animal study. ⋯ These data demonstrate that PEMF accelerates sensorimotor recovery in a rodent model of DH, suggesting that PEMF may be reasonable to evaluate for the clinical management of patients with herniation-associated radiculopathy.Level of Evidence: N/A.

Multicenter Study Observational Study
Efficacy of Intraoperative Intervention Following Tc-MEP Alert during Posterior Decompression and Fusion Surgery for Thoracic OPLL: A Prospective Multicenter Study of the Monitoring Committee of the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research.
Prospective, multicenter, observational study. ⋯ These results show the efficacy of intraoperative intervention following a Tc-MEP alert for prevention of neurological deficit postoperatively.Level of Evidence: 2.

Prospective analysis of example cases. ⋯ The ISSG-AO Multi-Domain Spinal Deformity Complication Classification System for Adult Spinal Deformity demonstrated good accuracy and repeatability among both surgeons and research coordinators in capturing complications in adult spinal deformity surgery. The ISSG-AO system may be applied to help better understand the impact of complications on outcomes and costs in adult spinal deformity surgery.Level of Evidence: 5.
-
Retrospective cohort study. ⋯ The utilization of semitendinosus allograft tendon to augment the PLC at the upper instrumented vertebrae in patients undergoing long-segment posterior spinal fusion for adult deformity resulted in a significant decrease in PJF incidence and improved functional outcomes when compared to a cohort with similar risk of developing PJK and PJFLevel of Evidence: 3.
