Prognostic Value of Volumetric Parameters Measured by Pretreatment 18F FDG PET/CT in Patients With Cutaneous Malignant Melanoma.
This study was performed to evaluate the prognostic relevance of metabolic tumor volume (MTV) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) measured using F FDG PET/CT in patients with primary cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM). ⋯ Pretreatment MTV and TLG may be useful in stratifying the likelihood of recurrence and melanoma-specific death, and TLG was found to be the best predictive marker for predicting melanoma-specific death.

The Value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in Diagnostic Procedure of Intravascular Large B-Cell Lymphoma Presenting Fever of Unknown Origin and Pulmonary Hypertension as an Initial Manifestation.
A 57-year-old man presented with fever of unknown origin and pulmonary hypertension. An F-FDG PET/CT scan was performed to evaluate the source of fever, which showed diffuse, homogeneously increased FDG uptake in both lungs, which prompted the transbronchial lung biopsy. The pathological examination from biopsy specimen demonstrated intravascular large B-cell lymphoma.

Case ReportsChilaiditi Sign on 99mTc-Mebrofenin Hepatobiliary Scan Mimicking Bile Leak in Acute Cholecystitis.
Chilaiditi sign is the incidental radiologic finding of intestinal interposition between the liver and diaphragm, whereas Chilaiditi syndrome describes the presence of accompanying clinical symptoms including abdominal pain, constipation, vomiting, and respiratory distress. We describe a case of radiotracer accumulation over the liver dome on Tc-mebrofenin hepatobiliary scan performed on a 72-year-old man with acute cholecystitis mimicking a bile leak. However, chest radiograph and CT revealed intestinal hepatodiaphragmatic interposition. This case illustrates the importance of being familiar with the scintigraphic appearance of the Chilaiditi sign and correlating abnormal nuclear medicine scan findings with other available radiologic modalities.

Case ReportsIntraoperative 3D Navigation for Single or Multiple 125I-Seed Localization in Breast-Preserving Cancer Surgery.
Mammographic screening has led to the identification of more women with nonpalpable breast cancer, many of them to be treated with breast-preserving surgery. To accomplish radical tumor excision, adequate localization techniques such as radioactive seed localization (RSL) are required. For RSL, a radioactive I-seed is implanted central in the tumor to enable intraoperative localization using a γ-probe. In case of extensive tumor or multifocal carcinoma, multiple I-seeds can be used to delineate the involved area. Preoperative imaging is performed different from surgical positioning; therefore, exact I-seed depth remains unknown during surgery. ⋯ Freehand SPECT with 3D navigation is a valuable tool in RSL for both single and multiple implanted I-seeds in breast-preserving cancer surgery. Freehand SPECT provides continuous updating 3D imaging with information about depth and location of the I-seeds contributing to adequate excision of nonpalpable breast cancer.

Comparative StudyPotential Applications of Using 68Ga-Evans Blue PET/CT in the Evaluation of Lymphatic Disorder: Preliminary Observations.
Potentials of 68Ga-NEB as a PET tracer in the evaluation of a variety of lymphatic drainage disorders were analyzed. ⋯ 68Ga-NEB PET/CT can be used as an alternative of Tc-SC lymphoscintigraphy in the evaluation of lymphatic disorders, which enables fast results and might be more accurate than the conventional Tc-SC lymphoscintigraphy.
