Case ReportsMetastatic Prostate Carcinoma Presenting as a Superscan on 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT.
We describe the finding of a metastatic superscan detected by Ga-PSMA PET/CT imaging. A 63-year-old man with metastatic prostate carcinoma underwent Ga-PSMA PET/CT imaging for staging and evaluation of the most appropriate therapeutic option. Images demonstrated diffuse and extensive skeletal uptake in the axial and appendicular skeleton, corresponding to the typical red marrow distribution. Intense soft tissue uptake was also seen in the prostate and multiple pelvic and abdominal lymph nodes.

Variability of Hepatic 18F-FDG Uptake at Interim PET in Patients With Hodgkin Lymphoma.
When evaluating response of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) to chemotherapy on interim (18)F-FDG-PET/CT, physiological liver uptake is used as reference. Hodgkin lymphoma sites with uptake greater than liver are interpreted as positive. We aimed at examining factors that might influence liver uptake as reference organ. ⋯ At interim PET in patients with HL, liver SUVmean depends on BMI and sex, but not liver SULmean. Furthermore, our study, conducted with standard clinical procedure, also confirmed the high range of liver uptake values from one patient to another. Caution is required when using liver SUV as reference in patients with high BMI. Intrapatient fluctuation in liver SUVmean should also be expected.

Comparative StudyPrognostic value comparison between (18)F-FLT PET/CT and (18)F-FDG PET/CT volume-based metabolic parameters in patients with head and neck cancer.
The present study compared the potential of pretreatment 3'-deoxy-3'-[F]-fluorothymidine (F-FLT) uptake parameters and those of F-FDG to predict the clinical outcome of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma treated with chemoradiotherapy. ⋯ Pretreatment F-FLT PET/CT volume-based metabolic parameters are superior prognostic predictors to those of F-FDG PET/CT. F-FLT SUVmax and MTV can provide important prognostic information for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinomas administered with chemoradiotherapy.

(18)F-FDG dynamic PET/CT in patients with multiple myeloma: patterns of tracer uptake and correlation with bone marrow plasma cell infiltration rate.
The value of F-FDG PET in the diagnostic approach of multiple myeloma (MM) remains incompletely elicited. Little is known about the kinetics of F-FDG in the bone marrow and extramedullary sites in MM. This study aimed to evaluate quantitative data on kinetics and distribution patterns of F-FDG in MM patients with regard to pelvic bone marrow plasma cell infiltration. ⋯ The F-FDG kinetic parameters K1, influx, and fractal dimension as well as SUVaverage from reference tissue correlated significantly with bone marrow malignant plasma cell infiltration rate. Patients with negative PET/CT demonstrated the lowest bone marrow infiltration by malignant plasma cells, whereas those with a mixed pattern of tracer uptake had the highest infiltration.

(18)F-FDG PET/CT mean SUV and metabolic tumor volume for mean survival time in non-small cell lung cancer.
The study was designed to determine the relationship between survival time of standardized uptake value (SUVmax and SUVmean) and metabolic tumor volume (MTV) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and examine the impact of demographic, clinical, and radiological data of these patients on survival. ⋯ The present study showed that MTV and mSUV of FDG PET/CT scans of the tumor, but not SUVmax, had a significant impact on survival time of patients with NSCLC. Based on this result, we believe that we might have more accurate information about the survival time of our patients if we also evaluate mSUV and MTV in combination with mSUV, which is frequently used for diagnosis and monitoring of patients with NSCLC during our daily practice.
