Rebleeding of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage in computed tomography angiography: risk factor, rebleeding pattern, and outcome analysis.
For patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), computed tomography angiography (CTA) has been the first imaging modality for aneurysm detection. We evaluate the rate, time distribution, risk factors, and clinical outcome of aneurysmal rebleeding by CTA findings. ⋯ Rebleeding rate of aneurysmal SAH in the hyperacute stage at less than 6 hours is 10.9% with poor prognosis in this study, especially in patients with active bleeding demonstrated in CTA.

Case ReportsIntercostal artery pseudoaneurysm due to thoracentesis: diagnosis with three-dimensional computed tomographic angiography.
Intercostal artery pseudoaneurysm is extremely rare, with only a few case reports in the literature. Presented in this case report is a patient who developed an intercostal artery pseudoaneurysm after thoracentesis for recurrent pleural effusion. Diagnosis traditionally required arteriography; however, as shown in this case, the resolution of current multidetector computed tomography scanners and the routine acquisition of isotropic data sets with 3-dimensional visualization enable identification and detailed characterization of small vascular lesions such as these.

Role of virtual bronchoscopy in the evaluation of bronchial lesions.
Virtual bronchoscopy (VB) is a type of 3-dimensional reconstruction in which the observation point is placed within the airway to produce an endoscopiclike view. ⋯ Here, we compared the diagnostic capacities of both VB and FOB. The interventional and therapeutic ramifications of our findings await further investigations.

Shall we report cardiomegaly at routine computed tomography of the chest?
To examine the accuracy of the cardiothoracic ratio (CTR) at routine computed tomography (CT) of the chest to diagnose cardiomegaly by using echocardiography (ECHO) as a criterion standard, and secondarily, to search for CT cardiac measurements correlating with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) at ECHO. ⋯ In patients with cancer undergoing routine ECHO, the cardiothoracic ratio at routine CT scans was highly correlated with that at CXR. Preliminary estimates in this small study indicate a low likelihood of LVH when the CTR is less than 0.49.

Detection of prostate cancer with magnetic resonance imaging: optimization of T1-weighted, T2-weighted, dynamic-enhanced T1-weighted, diffusion-weighted imaging apparent diffusion coefficient mapping sequences and MR spectroscopy, correlated with biopsy and histopathological findings.
The aim of this study was to optimize and predict the most efficient magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences; T1-weighted (T1W), T2-weighted (T2W), dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) T1W, diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) mapping sequences and proton MR spectroscopy (H-MRS) for the detection of prostate cancer. ⋯ Instead of using either sequences alone owing to low sensitivity and specificity rates, combined use of MRI techniques could easily improve the detection and staging of prostate cancer.
