T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of the liver: evaluation of the effect in signal intensity after Gd-EOB-DTPA enhancement.
To evaluate the effect of gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA) on T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of liver parenchyma. ⋯ The T2-weighted images obtained during the early phase after enhancement will appear similar to those of the unenhanced T2-weighted images, whereas later images will show a reduced signal of the liver parenchyma.

Comparative StudyMetastases in mediastinal and hilar lymph nodes in patients with non-small cell lung cancer: quantitative assessment with diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and apparent diffusion coefficient.
To evaluate diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance (DW-MR) imaging for detection of metastases in lymph nodes by using quantitative analysis. ⋯ Quantitative analysis of DW-MR images enables differentiation of lymph nodes with metastasis from those without.

Case ReportsSusceptibility-weighted imaging of cerebral fat embolism.
Cerebral fat embolism (CFE) causes microinfarcts, vasogenic edema, and petechiae in the brain. Conventional magnetic resonance imaging has been reported to effectively visualize microinfarcts and vasogenic edema in CFE, but not petechiae. We report 3 cases of CFE in which susceptibility-weighted imaging distinctly demonstrated multiple minute hypointense foci in the brain, which were interpreted as petechiae, susceptibility-weighted imaging is a useful adjunct to conventional magnetic resonance imaging for the evaluation of CFE.

Hyperintense uterine myometrial masses on T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging: differentiation with diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging.
The objective was to determine whether diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) might be useful in differentiating uterine leiomyomas exhibiting hyperintensity on T2-weighted images from malignant lesions. ⋯ It was difficult to differentiate malignant tumors from leiomyomas on the basis of signal intensity on DWI; however, the ADC measurement may be helpful to distinguish malignant tumors, CLM, and DLM.

Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of uterine cervical cancer.
To determine the feasibility of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance (MR) imaging (DWI) of uterine cervical cancer and to investigate whether the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of cervical cancer differ from those of normal cervix and whether they could indicate the histologic type and the pathologic grade of tumor. ⋯ Diffusion-weighted MR imaging has a potential ability to differentiate between normal and cancerous tissue in the uterine cervix, and it can indicate the histologic type of uterine cervical cancer as well. The ADC value of uterine cervical cancer represents tumor cellular density, thus providing a new method for evaluating the pathologic grading of tumor.
