The authors operated on 22 patients with scapular body fractures, with a mean age of 35 years. The minimal follow-up was 12 months. All patients were treated from the Judet posterior approach. ⋯ We also identified three basic types of fractures of the lateral border of the scapula. The anatomical relationship between the glenoid fossa and scapular body, congruency and stability of the shoulder joint was achieved in all cases. The average constant score was 94.

Review Case Reports
Acute compartment syndrome in children: a case series in 24 patients and review of the literature.
Trauma-associated acute compartment syndrome (ACS) of the extremities is a well-known complication in adults. There are only a handful of articles that describe the symptoms, the diagnostic procedure and treatment of ACS in children. The aim of this study was to analyse the diagnostic procedures in children compared to adolescents with ACS to obtain evidence for the diagnosis, treatment and outcome of children with ACS. ⋯ Thus, we found no difference between the two groups in the diagnostic procedures, the indication for fasciotomy, the number of operations needed from fasciotomy to definitive wound closure, time of hospitalisation and clinical outcome. The rate of permanent complications was 4.2% (one patient from group A), which means that nearly all patients experienced full recovery after fasciotomy. ACS represents a surgical emergency and the indication should be determined early even in doubtful cases to avoid complications.

Clinical Trial
Two-year migration results of the ReCap hip resurfacing system-a radiostereometric follow-up study of 23 hips.
There has been renewed interest for metal-on-metal hip resurfacing due to improved design and manufacturing of implants, better materials, and enhanced implant fixation. In contrast to conventional total hip replacements, only a few clinical hip resurfacing trials using radiostereometry (RSA) have been reported, and solely for the Birmingham hip resurfacing arthroplasty. The purpose of this RSA trial was to describe the migration pattern of a new hip resurfacing system (ReCap) within the first two years after primary surgery. ⋯ The prosthesis showed mean translations and rotation close to zero. Maximum translation was seen along the transverse axis in the medial direction (0.13 mm). No statistically significant translation or rotation was seen at two-years follow-up, (t-test, p <0.05, translation or rotation).

Treatment of reverse oblique trochanteric femoral fractures is still challenging. We present the results of our proximal nailing surgery performed for reverse obliquity intertrochanteric fractures using two lag screws and evaluated the quality of the reduction, operative time, complications and functional status of the patients. Fifteen patients with AO/OTA 31 A-A3 fractures were treated by proximal femoral nailing in our trauma centre. ⋯ The mean duration of surgery was 48 minutes and the average consolidation time was 8.6 weeks. No intraoperative complications or postoperative technical failures and no stress shielding as evidenced by the lack of cortical hypertrophy at the level of the tip of the implant were detected. Intramedullary nailing with proximal femoral nails may be a good option in the treatment of reverse obliquity intertrochanteric fractures.
