Tuberculum sellae meningiomas are resected via an expanded endonasal (EEA) or transcranial approach (TCA). Which approach provides superior outcomes is debated. The Magill-McDermott (M-M) grading scale evaluating tumor size, optic canal invasion, and arterial involvement remains to be validated for outcome prediction. The objective of this study was to validate the M-M scale for predicting visual outcome, extent of resection (EOR), and recurrence, and to use propensity matching by M-M scale to determine whether visual outcome, EOR, or recurrence differ between EEA and TCA. ⋯ The refined M-M scale predicts visual worsening and EOR preoperatively. Preoperative visual deficits are more likely to improve after EEA; however, individual tumor features must be considered during nuanced approach selection by experienced neurosurgeons.

Evolving technologies have influenced the practice of myelomeningocele repair (MMCr), including mandatory folic acid fortification, advances in prenatal diagnosis, and the 2011 Management of Myelomeningocele Study (MOMS) trial demonstrating benefits of fetal over postnatal MMCr in select individuals. Postnatal MMCr continues to be performed, especially for those with limitations in prenatal diagnosis, health care access, anatomy, or personal preference. A comprehensive, updated national perspective on the trajectory of postnatal MMCr volumes and patient disparities is absent. We characterize national trends in postnatal MMCr rates before and after the MOMS trial publication (2000-2010 vs 2011-2019) and examine whether historical disparities persist. ⋯ National rates of postnatal MMCr gradually declined in the post-MOMS era. Medicaid and low-income patients comprise an increasing majority of MMCr patients post-MOMS, whereas historical race/ethnicity-specific disparities are improving. Now more than ever, we must address disparities in the care of MMC patients before and after birth.

ChatGPT is a novel natural language processing artificial intelligence (AI) module where users enter any question or command and receive a single text response within seconds. As AI becomes more accessible, patients may begin to use it as a resource for medical information and advice. This is the first study to assess the neurosurgical information that is provided by ChatGPT. ⋯ ChatGPT is an adaptive resource for neurosurgical information but has shortcomings that limit the quality of its responses, including poor readability, lack of references, and failure to fully describe treatment options. Hence, patients and providers should remain wary of the provided content. As ChatGPT or other AI search algorithms continue to improve, they may become a reliable alternative for medical information.

This multicenter study aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of the Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device for treating unruptured wide-neck intracranial bifurcation aneurysms (WIBAs) with short-, mid-, and long-term follow-ups (FUPs). ⋯ The WEB device was safe and effective for treating unruptured WIBAs, both in short-term and long-term FUPs.
