Understanding post-treatment hemodynamic alterations and their association with the patency of covered branch arteries is limited. This study aims to identify hemodynamic changes after flow diverter stenting and investigate their correlation with the patency status of covered branch arteries. ⋯ Pipeline embolization device stenting can cause a reduction in blood flow in branch arteries. Compared with patent branches, flow-impaired branches exhibit an increase in blood flow velocity after stenting. Smoking and ΔFWHM in the covered branches indicate flow impairment.

Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) presents significant management challenges in neurosurgical practice, with recurrence being a notable postoperative consideration. This study aimed to evaluate the Relative Cortical Atrophy (RCA) Index as a predictor of recurrence after CSDH surgery. ⋯ The RCA Index is a simple yet robust predictor of CSDH recurrence. Incorporating this measure into the preoperative assessment may enhance surgical planning and postoperative management, potentially reducing recurrence rates.

Antibiotic-impregnated shunts seem to be beneficial in preventing bacterial infections and decreasing mortality by effectively inhibiting microbial growth in the shunt system and reducing the risk of shunt-associated infections. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of antibiotic-impregnated shunt catheters (AISC) in reducing the incidence of bacterial shunt infection in patients with hydrocephalus. ⋯ Our study provided evidence that AISC is significantly associated with the reduction in the rate of bacterial ventriculoperitoneal-shunt infection. In addition, there was a tendency toward AISC to decrease shunt failure compared with the standard shunt.

Histologic and transcriptomic analyses of retrieved stroke clots have identified features associated with patient outcomes. Previous studies have demonstrated the predictive capacity of histology or expression features in isolation. Few studies, however, have investigated how paired histologic image features and expression patterns from the retrieved clots can improve understanding of clot pathobiology and our ability to predict long-term prognosis. We hypothesized that computational models trained using clot histomics and mRNA expression can predict early neurological improvement (ENI) and 90-day functional outcome (modified Rankin Scale Score, mRS) better than models developed using histological composition or expression data alone. ⋯ Hybrid models offer improved outcome prognostication for patients with stroke. Identified digital histology and mRNA signatures warrant further investigation as biomarkers of patient functional outcome after thrombectomy.

Adults with achondroplasia are more vulnerable to suffer from neurogenic claudication because of a congenital narrow spinal canal, which makes them susceptible to lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). The study aims to investigate the correlations between sagittal alignment parameters and the degree of LSS in patients with achondroplasia with LSS. ⋯ The upper LSS may be attributed to an increased kyphosis of the thoracolumbar spine. On the contrary, the lower LSS seemed to be correlated with a more backward tilt of the pelvis.
