Glioblastoma (GBM) is a rapidly growing and most life-threatening malignant brain tumor. The significance of early treatment to the clinical outcomes of patients with GBM is unclear. ⋯ Early diagnosis within 2 weeks and surgical interventions within 3 weeks from the symptom onset are associated with prolonged patient survival. Early GBM treatment will benefit patients with GBM.

Advances in neurosurgical techniques have always been accompanied by advances in neurosurgical technology. ⋯ Intellectual property protection serves as an important incentive to innovation. The protection of intellectual property related to neurosurgery presents several issues that deserve careful consideration for neurosurgical innovation.
