Intestinal ascariasis is considered as state subject in our valley of Kashmir. The aim of our study was to analyse the age, clinical presentation, diagnosis, surgical complications, and management of Ascaris lumbricoides in children and adults. ⋯ Ascaris lumbricoides is common cause of acute abdomen in our valley attributed to poor hygiene and low socioeconomic background. In patients of high clinical suspicion of worm obstruction, prompt investigations should be advised to reach a definitive diagnosis and prevent the development of complications. Significant efforts must be channelised at political and society levels for the prevention of this disease. Mass deworming programs should be adopted to overcome this menace.

To investigate the impact of COVID-19 on trauma admissions to a National Neurosurgical Centre in Ireland. ⋯ Traumatic brain injury 30-day mortality rates increased during the first COVID-19 lockdown period. Trauma admission rates to ICU remained unchanged despite an overall reduction in trauma admissions. Transfer time, time to surgery, and length of stay were impacted by COVID-19. Despite the challenges COVID-19 has posed, it is important to maintain a fully functioning neurosurgical and neurocritical care service during the pandemic.

The effect of exercise on disease-free survival and overall survival in patients with breast cancer.
Positive effects of exercise in cancer patients have been reported. ⋯ Exercise was associated with decreased relapse and mortality rates in patients with BC. Therefore, exercise should be recommended to BC patients as a significant component of the treatment.

Combined rhegmatogenous retinal and choroidal detachment (CRRCD) is a rare phenomenon. It is important that CRRCD is recognised preoperatively so that corticosteroids may be administered as this may make repair surgery easier to do. ⋯ These 3 patients had good anatomical and functional results following surgery for CRRCD. All patients had visual acuity of 6/18 or better at last review.
