A cross-sectional study to evaluate the impact of early tracheostomy in management of neurosurgical patients.
Tracheostomy is a crucial procedure in the management of neurosurgical patients, and determining the appropriate timing for the intervention remains a contentious issue. While some experts advocate for early tracheostomy, others recommend a more conservative approach of closely monitoring the patient's condition before performing the procedure. ⋯ Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the optimal management of neurosurgical patients, with implications for clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Tracheoesophageal fistula development following radiotherapy and tyrosine kinase inhibitors in a patient with advanced follicular thyroid carcinoma: a case-based review.
Tracheoesophageal fistulas (TEF) are a rare complication that can occur in patients with radioactive iodine refractory metastatic follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) following treatment with radiotherapy (RT) and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI). ⋯ This case report highlights a rare cause of TEF development in a patient having TKI therapy post-RT for advanced FTC. It highlights the importance of monitoring TEF development in this cohort of patients. It demonstrates the importance of patient counselling and education regarding treatment options and the rare side effects of treatments.

There has been an international effort to improve physical health in general and in those with mental illness. Physical activity (PA) may be beneficial as an adjunctive treatment for mental health disorders and to improve physical well-being. ⋯ Evidence that PA interventions are being offered in CAMHS worldwide is limited. Included studies demonstrate potential benefits in depressive symptoms, psychosocial functioning, self-esteem and aerobic fitness in youth attending CAMHS. Future research should identify effective ways to incorporate exercise interventions in CAMHS and evaluate long-term benefits.

The objective was to investigate the current evidence and discern urinary continence rates post robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALP). ⋯ Early continence rates were improved across numerous techniques in RALP. These results were not translated into significantly improved long-term outcomes. Continence rates following RALP were favourable compared to LRP, similar to ORP and less favourable compared to BT. Our findings suggest that post-RALP continence can be further improved with alterations in robotic technique.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technique to make intelligent machines, mainly by using smart computer programs. It is based on a statistical analysis of data or machine learning. Using machine learning, software algorithms are designed according to the desired application. ⋯ At present, artificial intelligence (AI) is used while deciding the treatment, and medications using various tools which could analyze X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and any other data. During the COVID pandemic, there was a huge/massive demand for AI-supported technologies and many of those were created during that time. This study is focused on various applications of AI in healthcare.
