To test the validity and reliability of the Spiritual Needs Inventory (SNI) in measuring the spiritual needs of informal caregivers of patients with cancer in hospice home care. ⋯ Use of the SNI with hospice caregivers could aid nurses in the identification of spiritual needs, enabling the development of plans of individualized, high-quality care.

Comparative StudyThe relationship of sleep disturbance and symptom severity, symptom interference, and hospitalization among Israeli inpatients with cancer.
To examine the relationship of sleep disturbance and symptom severity, symptom interference, and hospitalization among inpatients with cancer. ⋯ Additional investigation should be conducted to identify the factors that influence sleep disturbances in patients with cancer at home and the relationship between sleep disturbance and numbness and tingling.

Incidence of preventable postoperative readmissions following pancreaticoduodenectomy: implications for patient education.
To determine readmission rates post-pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD), readmission reasons following PD, and patients' postoperative education prior to discharge. ⋯ Close attention must be given to the needs of patients with pancreatic cancer postdischarge. Trying to identify the areas of educational deficit at patient readmission could help nurses identify what they can do to minimize preventable complications. Educational focus for patients undergoing PD should be on prevention of dehydration, malnutrition, and surgical site infections.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyPredicting fear of breast cancer recurrence and self-efficacy in survivors by age at diagnosis.
To determine the effect that age at diagnosis has on fear of breast cancer recurrence and to identify the predictors of fear of recurrence using self-efficacy as a mediator. ⋯ Oncology nurses are in a key role to assess fear of recurrence and provide self-efficacy interventions to reduce it in breast cancer survivors. Strategies to efficiently address fear of recurrence to reduce psychological distress in survivorship follow-up care are warranted.
