Correlation between Anatomical Segments of the Pudendal Nerve and Clinical Findings of the Patient with Pudendal Neuralgia.
The objective was to describe clinical findings and outcomes of patients with pudendal neuralgia in relation with the anatomical segment affected. ⋯ CPP and radiation of pain to lower limbs suggest a disorder at the second segment of PN. A positive Tinel sign in the third segment indicates a nerve entrapment. In terminal branches, pain was more frequent at the perineal nerve and more persistent at the DCN.

ReviewLow Back Pain in Pregnancy: Investigations, Management, and Role of Neuraxial Analgesia and Anaesthesia: A Systematic Review.
Low back pain (LBP) is commonly experienced during pregnancy and is often poorly managed. There is much ambiguity in diagnostic work-up, appropriate management and decision-making regarding the use of neuraxial analgesia and anaesthesia during labour and delivery in these patients. This systematic review summarises the evidence regarding investigations, management strategies and considerations around performing neuraxial blocks for pregnant women with LBP. ⋯ MRI is the safest investigative modality for LBP in pregnancy. Antenatal educational programmes, exercise and steroid injections into the epidural space or sacroiliac joints may help with pain management. Worsening neurological deficits, vertebral fractures and tumours may need surgical management. There is limited evidence on challenges of performing neuraxial blocks in the peripartum period for analgesia and anaesthesia, but there is a potential for increased risk of neurological complications in parturients with pre-existing neurological deficits.

Fetal Heart-Rate Variability: Validation of a New Continuous, Noninvasive Computerized Analysis.
We developed a computerized heart-rate variability index related to the fetal parasympathetic activity: the Fetal Stress Index (FSI). The objective was to determine whether the FSI is related to the visual analysis of the fetal heart rate (FHR). ⋯ Although further studies are necessary for the sake of clinical validation, FSI could constitute an interesting method for the evaluation of fetal well-being.

Meta AnalysisAssociation between X-Ray Repair Cross-Complementing Group 1 Arg399Gln Polymorphism and Cervical Cancer Risk: A Meta-Analysis in the Chinese Population.
Many studies have examined the association of X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) Arg399Gln polymorphism with cervical cancer susceptibility. However, the results of these studies are inconsistent. To further assess the effects of XRCC1 Arg399Gln polymorphism on the risk of cervical cancer in the Chinese population, a meta-analysis was performed. ⋯ This meta-analysis showed that the XRCC1 Arg399Gln GA variant might be risk alleles for cervical cancer susceptibility in the Chinese population, and further studies in other ethnic groups are required to arrive at definite conclusions.

To create awareness about a surgical technique termed bridge suture, which is performed as a pretreatment before a McDonald cerclage is performed on an emergency to treat severe cervical insufficiency. ⋯ The important outcome of bridge suture is the replacement of fetal membranes back into the uterine cavity before McDonald's cerclage is performed. Pretreatment with bridge suture may facilitate the performance of a successful emergency cerclage and contribute to good maternal and neonatal outcomes.
