Review Meta AnalysisKlippel-Trenaunay syndrome and spinal arteriovenous malformations: an erroneous association.
KTS is a rare limb overgrowth disorder with slow-flow vascular anomalies. This study examines the presumed association between KTS and spinal AVMs. ⋯ An association between KTS and spinal AVM, as posited in numerous references, is most likely erroneous. The association has neither been reliably proved in the limited published literature nor encountered in a large cohort.

ReviewMR neurography of neuromas related to nerve injury and entrapment with surgical correlation.
MR imaging of peripheral nerves has been described in relation to abnormalities such as nerve injury, entrapment, and neoplasm. Neuroma formation is a known response to peripheral nerve injury, and here we correlate the MRN appearance of postinjury neuroma formation with intraoperative findings. We also present the MR imaging features of surgical treatment with a synthetic nerve tube and nerve wrap on postoperative follow-up imaging.

Case ReportsThe effectiveness of microballoon angioplasty in treating middle cerebral artery occlusion beyond the bifurcation.
PTA effectively treats vasospasm and arterial disease in peripheral, coronary, and large proximal cerebral vessels but rarely reaches small vessels like the distal MCA beyond the bifurcation. Our purpose was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of PTA for distal MCA occlusions in acute ischemic stroke. ⋯ PTA of the distal MCA with a microballoon is safe and effective for acute ischemic stroke. This case series demonstrates that endovascular treatment beyond the MCA bifurcation can dramatically reverse neurologic deficits.

Case ReportsMarchiafava-Bignami disease with widespread lesions and complete recovery.
MBD is a rare disorder strongly associated with alcoholism. It is characterized pathologically by demyelination and necrosis of the corpus callosum. ⋯ We report a patient with total clinical recovery. Serial MR imaging demonstrated typical lesions with restricted diffusion in the acute stage and total resolution without atrophy or cystic change.

Clinical TrialCurative embolization with Onyx of dural arteriovenous fistulas with cortical venous drainage.
Dural fistulas with cortical venous drainage often present with hemorrhage or neurologic deficit, and prompt treatment is indicated. Occlusion of the draining vein by endovascular techniques or surgical disconnection is considered curative. We present our first endovascular experience with use of Onyx via the arterial route in these aggressive fistulas. ⋯ In this small series, curative embolization of dural fistulas with exclusive cortical venous drainage by using Onyx via the arterial route was possible in all patients.
