Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
The use of an intra-oral injection of ketorolac in the treatment of irreversible pulpitis.
To examine whether an intra-oral injection of a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (ketorolac), in association with conventional local anaesthetic techniques, would improve the pulp extirpation rate in teeth with irreversible pulpitis. ⋯ An intra-oral injection of ketorolac did not improve the pulp extirpation rate in a small group of patients with irreversible pulpitis compared with a placebo. In addition, it was associated with such significant pain on injection that it cannot be recommended as a treatment in this situation.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study Clinical Trial
The efficacy of pain control following nonsurgical root canal treatment using ibuprofen or a combination of ibuprofen and acetaminophen in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study.
To compare ibuprofen, to an ibuprofen/acetaminophen combination in managing postoperative pain following root canal treatment. It is hypothesized that the drug combination will provide more postoperative pain relief than the placebo or ibuprofen alone. ⋯ The results demonstrate that the combination of ibuprofen with acetaminophen may be more effective than ibuprofen alone for the management of postoperative endodontic pain.

Comparative Study
A comparative study of root canal preparation using FlexMaster and HERO 642 rotary Ni-Ti instruments.
To compare several parameters of root canal preparation using two different rotary nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) instruments: FlexMaster (VDW, Munich, Germany) and HERO 642 (Micro-Mega, Besançon, France). ⋯ Both systems respected original root canal curvature well and were safe. Both systems failed to remove debris and smear layer in the majority of the cases.

Comparative Study
A comparative study of root canal preparation with HERO 642 and Quantec SC rotary Ni-Ti instruments.
The purpose of this study was to compare several parameters of root canal preparation using two different rotary nickel-titanium instruments: HERO 642 (Micro-Mega, Besancon, France) and Quantec SC (Tycom, Irvine, CA, USA). ⋯ Both systems respected original root canal curvature well and showed good cleaning ability; Quantec SC showed deficiencies in terms of safety.

Comparative Study
Some factors affecting the concentration of available chlorine in commercial sources of sodium hypochlorite.
To evaluate the availability, effect of storage, dilution and heating on some commercial sources of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). ⋯ Both proprietary and nonproprietary solutions of NaOCl should be relatively easily obtainable in the UK. Stored under appropriate conditions, commercially available thin bleaches and nonproprietary solutions of NaOCl may be diluted to obtain predictable concentrations. Heating solutions of NaOCl may cause unpredictable changes to the concentration, depending upon conditions.
