To assess the role of multidetector CT angiography (MDCTA) in the diagnosis of acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) and to compare the diagnostic utility of axial images with reconstructed images. ⋯ MDCTA is an effective non-invasive modality for the diagnosis of mesenteric ischemia.

T2*-weighted MRI may represent a novel method for identifying hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The goal of this study was to assess the diagnostic accuracy of T2*-weighted MRI for HCC with liver explant correlation. ⋯ T2*-weighted MRI had a moderate sensitivity for identifying HCC but had an excellent specificity. A T2*-weighted MR sequence may be a useful component of a liver MRI protocol due to its high specificity for HCC, and may be particularly useful in patients unable to undergo gadolinium enhanced MRI.

Comparison of three different injection methods for arterial phase of Gd-EOB-DTPA enhanced MR imaging of the liver.
To compare three different injection methods for optimizing hepatic arterial phase of gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA) enhanced MR imaging. ⋯ For the optimal arterial phase imaging, injection rate of 1 mL/s with undiluted Gd-EOB-DTPA is convenient and preferable, compared with other two methods, based on our qualitative analysis.

99mTc-DPD-SPECT/CT predicts the outcome of imaging-guided diagnostic anaesthetic injections: a prospective cohort study.
We hypothesized that bone SPECT combined with multiplanar reconstructed CT can identify and target the pain-inducing focus in the foot and can be used to successfully guide anaesthetic infiltrations. Therefore we prospectively investigated feasibility and predictive value of bone SPECT/CT for image guided diagnostic infiltrations in patients with chronic foot pain. ⋯ The present study shows the feasibility of 99mTc-DPD-SPECT/CT guided infiltration of osseous structures of patients with chronic foot pain. 99mTc-DPD-SPECT/CT had a higher predictive value on the clinical outcome than the clinical assessment. In the clinical setting 99mTc-DPD-SPECT/CT might overrule the clinical assessment in case of disagreement on the target lesion.

The purpose of this study was to assess differences in enhancement effects of liver parenchyma between normal and cirrhotic livers on contrast-enhanced MR imaging (CE-MRI) obtained with Gd-EOB-DTPA. ⋯ Hepatic parenchymal enhancement on CE-MR images obtained using Gd-EOB-DTPA is affected by the severity of cirrhosis.
