To evaluate the value of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) histogram analysis based on whole tumor volume in predicting microvascular invasion (MVI) of single hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). ⋯ Histogram analysis of IVIM based on whole tumor volume can be useful for predicting MVI. The 5th percentile of D was most useful value to predict MVI of HCC.

To evaluate the inter-reader agreement of the CT features of acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI). ⋯ Inter-reader agreement was moderate to substantial for most CT features of AMI. Multiphasic CT scan protocol, including unenhanced, arterial phase and venous phase images, without positive oral contrast agent, and excellent CT images quality improve inter-observer agreement of imaging features of AMI, especially for decreased/absent bowel wall enhancement, and should be performed in patients with suspected AMI.

This study aims to evaluate the incremental diagnostic value of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) feature tracking (FT) derived atrial and ventricular strain-analysis in patients with acute myocarditis (myocarditis) as an additional tool to established Lake-Louise criteria (LLC). ⋯ Combining quantitative CMR derived atrial and ventricular strain parameters with established LLC parameters can improve the diagnostic performance in patients with suspected myocarditis, including those with preserved LV function. Further investigations should focus on LA function, which appears to be more sensitive to early functional changes than LV function.

Basilar invagination (BI) is an abnormality characterized by a superior projection at the craniovertebral junction (CVJ). The high prevalence of BI in Northeastern Brazil associated with brachycephaly, which is measured by the cranial index (CI), has been widely reported by several neurosurgeons and radiologists from that region since the 1950s. However, strong evidence for this relationship is still pending. The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a relationship between BI and CI in a sample with participants from Northeastern Brazil. ⋯ The results indicated a greater cephalic projection of the CVJ in patients with high CI in the BI group. Moreover, a CI above 86 has a good diagnosis specificity for BI, showing evidence of a relationship between hyperbrachycephaly and CVJ anomalies in Northeastern Brazil.
