To evaluate the relationship between apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value and the local invasiveness of endometrial carcinoma. ⋯ Mean ADC value was lower in endometrial carcinoma was lower than the normal uterus. Quartile ADC, representing the intra-tumor heterogeneity of water movement, had a profound relationship with invasiveness of endometrial carcinomas, while mean ADC value did not. ADC values may serve as a quantitative indicator to complement routine sequences.

Role of combined DWIBS/3D-CE-T1w whole-body MRI in tumor staging: Comparison with PET-CT.
To assess the diagnostic performance of whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI) by diffusion-weighted whole-body imaging with background body signal suppression (DWIBS) in malignant tumor detection and the potential diagnostic advantages in generating fused DWIBS/3D-contrast enhanced T1w (3D-CE-T1w) images. ⋯ WB-MRI with DWIBS is to be considered as alternative tool to conventional whole-body methods for tumor staging and during follow-up in cancer patients.

Comparison of 3T and 7T MRI clinical sequences for ankle imaging.
The purpose of this study was to compare 3T and 7T signal-to-noise and contrast-to noise ratios of clinical sequences for imaging of the ankles with optimized sequences and dedicated coils. Ten healthy volunteers were examined consecutively on both systems with three clinical sequences: (1) 3D gradient-echo, T(1)-weighted; (2) 2D fast spin-echo, PD-weighted; and (3) 2D spin-echo, T(1)-weighted. SNR was calculated for six regions: cartilage; bone; muscle; synovial fluid; Achilles tendon; and Kager's fat-pad. ⋯ There was a substantial benefit from ultra high-field MR imaging of ankles with routine clinical sequences at 7T compared to 3T. Higher SNR and CNR at ultra-high field MR scanners may be useful in clinical practice for ankle imaging. However, carefully optimized protocols and dedicated extremity coils are necessary to obtain optimal results.

To evaluate the efficiency and feasibility of microwave (MW) ablation assisted by a real-time virtual navigation system for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undetectable by conventional ultrasonography. ⋯ MW ablation assisted by a real-time virtual navigation system is a feasible and efficient treatment of patients with HCC undetectable by conventional ultrasonography.

Recent literature revealed good short-term results after microfracturing (MFX) of isolated focal cartilage defects in the knee joint. Study purpose was a long-term evaluation of patients who received MFX through a multimodal approach, correlating clinical scores and morphological pre- and postoperative MRI-scans. ⋯ Our study demonstrated that MFX as a treatment option for cartilage defect in the knee did not show the anticipated clinical and radiological long-term results. In 12 of 15 patients the cartilage defect size had increased after MFX, in 2 patients indicating full-knee replacement. Especially those with a leg malalignment >5° in varus were more prone to suffer from an increase in defect size. In our cohort the clinical scores correlated with the radiological findings.
