Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparative Efficacy and Safety of Anti-Platelet Agents in Cerebral Ischemic Disease: A Network Meta-Analysis.
We performed a network meta-analysis (NMA) to enhance the corresponding evidence of the relative efficacy and safety of different antiplatelet agents in cerebral ischemic disease. PubMed and EMBASE were searched systematically for relevant studies. Outcomes were compared using odds ratios and 95% credible intervals. ⋯ However, the performance of ASA+Clop declined significantly when considering safety (including myocardial infarction, all-cause withdrawal, and intracranial hemorrhage), especially worse in intracranial hemorrhage. In conclusion, Clop was potentially the most preferable treatment for preventing cerebral ischemic in terms of efficacy and safety. However, the addition of ASA was associated with a potential increase in intracranial hemorrhage, therefore, combination therapy of ASA and Clop should be introduced with caution although it may be more effective than the monotherapy of ASA.

Cutaneous wounds, a type of soft tissue injury, are difficult to heal in aging. Differentiation, migration, proliferation, and apoptosis of skin cells are identified as key factors during wound healing processes. Mesenchymal stem cells have been documented as possible candidates for wound healing treatment because their use could augment the regenerative capacity of many tissues. ⋯ In addition, the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling was confirmed by the enhanced expression of β-catenin at the protein level. Collectively, our findings suggest that ADSC-exos play a positive role in cutaneous wound healing possibly via Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Our study may provide new insights into the therapeutic target for cutaneous wound healing.

ZCCHC9 is a type of CCHC type zinc-finger containing protein which was found to be expressed in some tissues including brain and testicles in mice. Expression and function of ZCCHC9 in human tissues including cancer was largely unknown. In this study, we investigated the expression and function of ZCCHC9 in human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the related molecular mechanism. ⋯ Western blot study showed that overexpression of cytoplasmic ZCCHC9 significantly upregulated expression of p-JNK, Cyclin D1, and MMP7 (P < 0.05). Next we used the inhibitor of JNK pathway to inhibit the activity of the JNK pathway and the results showed that co-addition of SP600125 significantly abolished the function of ZCCHC9 to promote the proliferation and invasion of cancer cells. These results indicate that cytoplasmic ZCCHC9 could promote the proliferation and invasion of NSCLC through the JNK pathway and may be a promising cancer maker.

Recently, it has been revealed that estrogen-related reproductive factors are linked with some early gene expression lesions associated with malignancy in clinically healthy breasts. Accordingly, the aim of the current study was to evaluate the association of expression levels of estrogen-related long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) upstream Eleanor (u-Eleanor) and HOX antisense intergenic RNA (HOTAIR) with the different patterns of reproductive factors in breast tissue of healthy women. The subjects of this study were 98 cancer-free women who had undergone cosmetic mammoplasty. ⋯ Furthermore, a higher expression of u-Eleanor was found in the women with a short breastfeeding duration for 1 to 6 months than that in the women with a breastfeeding duration of greater than 24 months (P = 0.02). In the same way, the results of correlation test (r = -0.258; P = 0.036) and multivariate regression model (β = -0.321; P = 0.023) are indicative of a significant relationship of elevated expression of u-Eleanor with decreasing breastfeeding duration in the women. These findings could be important to identify the molecular mechanisms behind the relationship between a lack or short duration of the breastfeeding and the risk of breast cancer, which has previously been reported by epidemiological studies.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in fibrosis process. In our previous RNA-seq study, we found that lncRNA myocardial infarction-associated transcript (MIAT) was differentially expressed in pancreatic tissues of chronic pancreatitis (CP) patients. However, the function of MIAT in CP remains unknown. This study was aimed to investigate the function and underlying mechanism of MIAT in pancreatic fibrosis. ⋯ Our study provided mechanistic insights into a critical role for MIAT as a miRNA sponge in CP.
