Risk stratification using computed tomography coronary angiography in patients undergoing intermediate-risk noncardiac surgery.
This study evaluated whether coronary artery calcium scores (CACS) and the degree of stenosis that were measured with computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) predicted post-operative cardiovascular events in patients who were undergoing intermediate-risk noncardiac surgery. ⋯ In the pre-operative risk stratification of patients who were undergoing intermediate-risk noncardiac surgeries, CTCA evaluations showed additive value to RCRI.

Multicenter StudyCombining body mass index with measures of central obesity in the assessment of mortality in subjects with coronary disease: role of "normal weight central obesity".
This study sought to assess the mortality risk of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) based ona combination of body mass index (BMI) with measures of central obesity. ⋯ In patients with CAD, normal weight with central obesity is associated with the highest risk of mortality [corrected].
