[Plastic Surgery in times of COVID-19 in a maximum care hospital in Berlin - Description of the situation and approaches to action for resumption of regular operation].
This article illustrates the recent developments in Plastic Surgery, which faces new challenges in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Using the example of a Plastic Surgery department in a maximum care clinic facility in Berlin, we show recent courses of action, that may be relevant for other hospitals and that can possibly help to handle the recent situation as well as possible further waves of infections and to create a constructive way back into Plastic Surgery routine. A view into the future also shows, that in the context of COVID-19 new tasks will challenge our discipline in clinics as well as in private practice.

ReviewThe COVID-19 Pandemic and its Impact on Plastic Surgery in Europe - An ESPRAS Survey.
The present article provides an overview of the current and expected effects of plastic surgery in Europe. It presents the experience of departments for plastic and reconstructive surgery, as evaluated by interviews with members of the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the European Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (ESPRAS). The objective of this overview is to summmarise current information in our area of work and to make this accessible to a broad group of readers. As our knowledge is rapidly increasing during the current pandemic, it is evident that we can only provide a snapshot and this will inevitably be incomplete.

Long-term Stack splint immobilization for closed tendinous Mallet Finger.
Closed tendinous mallet finger can be treated non-operatively by extension splinting of the distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ) for 6 to 8 weeks. However, method of conservative treatment in detail differs among various reports, especially in type of orthosis, duration of full-time immobilization and additional night orthotic wear after full-time immobilization. In our institution, full-time Stack splint is applied with distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ) in extension for 12 weeks and night orthosis is worn for 4 weeks. ⋯ Wearing orthosis for up to 16 weeks (12 weeks full time and 4 weeks night orthosis) in the treatment of tendinous mallet finger injuries can achieve satisfying result.
