Added value of systematic biopsy in men with a clinical suspicion of prostate cancer undergoing biparametric MRI-targeted biopsy: multi-institutional external validation study.
We aimed to develop and externally validate a nomogram based on MRI volumetric parameters and clinical information for deciding when SBx should be performed in addition to TBx in man with suspicious prostate MRI. ⋯ The developed nomogram demonstrated potential to select men with a clinical suspicion of PCa who would benefit from performing SBx in addition to TBx. Public access to the nomogram is provided at: https://petiv.utu.fi/multiimprod/ .

The impact of COVID-19 pandemic on urological emergencies: a single-center experience.
COVID-19 pandemic represents a novel challenge for healthcare systems, and it affects even the daily urological practice. Italy was the first country after China to experience a lock-down period. Our objective is to determine whether, during the COVID-19 period, there has been any modification in urological emergencies. ⋯ Urgent urology practice was affected during COVID-19 pandemic with a remarkable reduction in urgent urological consultations; furthermore, a higher risk of admissions was observed in 2020. The consequences of a potentially delayed diagnosis remain to be determined.

Intranasal ketamine versus intravenous morphine for pain management in patients with renal colic: a double-blind, randomized, controlled trial.
Urinary stones are a common urologic problem that can be manifested as an intense pain, known as renal colic. Pain control is an important intervention for the emergency treatment of renal colic patients. Intranasal ketamine can form a crucial part of such interventions by offering a new route for a widely-used analgesic drug. ⋯ IN ketamine is as effective as IV morphine for pain control in renal colic patients. No remarkable side-effects were observed for IN ketamine use in these patients.
