To report the 24-month efficacy and safety of the interleukin-6 receptor antagonist tocilizumab (TCZ) for refractory uveitis-related macular edema (ME). ⋯ In this long-term study, TCZ was effective and had a comparable safety profile to published data for TCZ use in other indications, when used for the treatment of refractory uveitis-related ME.

To determine the ability of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) to detect choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in the pseudohypopyon stage of adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy. ⋯ Optical coherence tomography angiography may be superior to flourescein angiography in detecting CNV in adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy, especially in the pseudohypopyon stage. There are common artifacts that must be considered when analyzing vitelliform lesions with OCTA, including segmentation errors and inability to visualize flow under the vitelliform lesion in the choriocapillaris.

To assess long-term effectiveness of rituximab therapy for refractory noninfectious uveitis affecting the posterior segment. ⋯ Rituximab therapy was associated with stability and remission of recalcitrant noninfectious posterior uveitis in patients who did not tolerate or did not respond to other therapies.

OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY ANGIOGRAPHY OF THE FOVEA IN CHILDREN BORN PRETERM.
To compare the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area measured by optical coherence tomography angiography in children who had been born preterm with age-matched controls. ⋯ Optical coherence tomography angiography is a novel modality for noninvasive visualization of the retinal vasculature in pediatric patients and expands our knowledge of foveal abnormalities in retinopathy of prematurity. A small or absent FAZ seems to be a distinct sign of prematurity.

VITREOUS INCARCERATION IN SCLEROTOMIES AFTER VALVED 23-, 25-, OR 27-GAUGE AND NONVALVED 23- OR 25-GAUGE MACULAR SURGERY.
To study the patterns of vitreous incarceration at sclerotomy sites by ultrasound biomicroscopy in patients subjected to valved or nonvalved small-gauge pars plana vitrectomy. ⋯ In 23- and 25-gauge macular surgeries, postoperative vitreous incarceration does not seem to be reduced using valved cannulas and was similar to that observed in 27-gauge surgery.
