To identify prognostic indicators of postoperative visual acuity and retinal detachment (RD) in open globe injuries. ⋯ Preoperative visual acuity, posterior wound extension, and RD significantly influenced postoperative visual acuity after open globe injury. Vitreous hemorrhage predicted RD, and prompt intervention after detection may improve visual outcomes.

To evaluate the visual and morphologic outcomes of intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR) in eyes with diabetic macular edema (DME) based on the morphologic pattern on optical coherence tomography. ⋯ Vision gains and retinal anatomy improvement were maintained in all three types during the first year of IVR administration. Especially, DRT maintained a good response to ranibizumab in a fewer number of injections. Disruption of the photoreceptor integrity at the baseline was correlated with poorer visual outcome and occurred more frequently in SRD.

To describe the morphologic alterations on spectral domain optical coherence tomography in active myopic choroidal neovascularization (CNV) receiving intravitreal bevacizumab and to evaluate its diagnostic accuracy, taking fluorescein angiography as a reference examination. ⋯ This study provides evidence that the absence of ELM visibility is a more reliable parameter for evaluating CNV activity than intraretinal/subretinal fluid collection and may constitute a useful option in diagnosing and monitoring the myopic CNV during anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapy.

To report the characteristics of a macular detachment associated with peripapillary intrachoroidal cavitation (ICC) and the outcomes of vitrectomy. ⋯ A macular detachment with ICC can be present in nonpathological myopic eyes. Vitreous surgery to create a posterior vitreous detachment with internal limiting membrane peeling may help resolve the macular detachment.

Association between anatomical resolution and functional outcomes in the mivi-trust studies using ocriplasmin to treat symptomatic vitreomacular adhesion/vitreomacular traction, including when associated with macular hole.
To evaluate visual function in patients with symptomatic vitreomacular adhesion (VMA)/vitreomacular traction including when associated with macular hole after ocriplasmin treatment, and the association between resolution of the underlying condition and improvement in visual function. ⋯ In patients with symptomatic VMA/vitreomacular traction, VMA resolution and nonsurgical full-thickness macular hole closure were each associated with improvements in visual function. Resolving the underlying anatomical condition in symptomatic VMA/vitreomacular traction will increase the probability of achieving a clinically meaningful improvement in visual function.
