Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic, painful, debilitating disease that may present in the pediatric years. Overweight and obesity are believed to worsen disease severity, but many patients do not receive counseling regarding weight control. The objective of this study is to examine the percentage of hidradenitis suppurativa patients who receive weight counseling as a part of their disease management and which specialties primarily care for these patients. ⋯ The results suggest that there is a need for increased awareness, education, and counseling on weight management and nutrition for pediatric hidradenitis suppurativa patients. Further studies are needed to determine the success of counseling on weight control and disease severity.

Randomized Controlled TrialLong-term efficacy and safety of topical glycopyrronium tosylate for the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis: Post hoc pediatric subgroup analysis from a 44-week open-label extension study.
Glycopyrronium tosylate (GT) cloth, 2.4% is a topical anticholinergic approved in the United States for primary axillary hyperhidrosis in patients ≥9 years. This post hoc analysis evaluated long-term response (efficacy and safety) in pediatric patients (≥9 to ≤16 years) to GT in the 44-week, open-label extension (NCT02553798) of two, phase 3, double-blind, vehicle-controlled, 4-week trials (NCT02530281, NCT02530294). ⋯ Long-term, once-daily GT for up to 48 weeks (4-week double-blind plus 44 week open label) provides a noninvasive, well-tolerated treatment option for pediatric patients with primary axillary hyperhidrosis.

Clustered cases of acral perniosis: Clinical features, histopathology, and relationship to COVID-19.
A recent marked increase in pediatric and adult patients presenting with purpuric acral lesions concerning for ischemia, thrombosis and necrosis has been observed in COVID-19 prevalent regions worldwide. The clinical and histopathological features and relationship to COVID-19 have not been well described. The objective of this case series is to describe the clinical features and determine the histopathologic findings and clinical implications of the clusters of acral perniosis cases identified in pediatric patients. ⋯ We offer a clinical approach to evaluation of patients with this presentation and discuss the possibility that these skin findings represent a convalescent-phase cutaneous reaction to SARS-CoV-2 infection.
