To develop a robust and efficient reconstruction framework that provides high-quality motion-compensated respiratory-resolved images from free-breathing 3D whole-heart Cartesian coronary magnetic resonance angiography (CMRA) acquisitions. ⋯ A robust respiratory-resolved motion-compensated framework for Cartesian CMRA has been proposed and tested in healthy subjects and patients. The proposed XD-ORCCA provides high-quality images for all respiratory phases, independently of the regularity of the breathing pattern.

To investigate the impact of accelerated, single-shot 3D-GRASE acquisition on quantitative arterial spin labeling (ASL) with multiple and single post-labeling delay (PLD) in terms of perfusion-weighted SNR per unit scan time (TSNRPW ) and quantification accuracy. ⋯ Accelerated single-shot 3D-GRASE with PCASL allows for smaller quantification uncertainties than time-matched segmented acquisitions. Corresponding single-shot acquisitions with acceptable blurring and no intra-volume motion render state-of-the-art ASL methods in a clinically feasible time possible.

To propose a technique that can produce different T1 and T2 contrasts in a single scan for simultaneous T1 and T2 mapping of the carotid plaque (SIMPLE). ⋯ The proposed SIMPLE allows simultaneous T1 and T2 mapping of the carotid artery in less than 10 minutes, serving as a quantitative tool with good accuracy and reproducibility for plaque characterization.

The aim of this study was to investigate potential effects of acute caffeine intake on J-difference-edited MRS measures of the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). ⋯ Mean GABA+ estimates from J-difference-edited MRS in two different brain regions are not altered by acute oral administration of caffeine. These findings may increase subject recruitment efficiency for MRS studies.
