Prostate cancer can be detected using a multicomponent T2 mapping technique termed luminal water imaging. The purpose of this study is twofold: 1) To accelerate the luminal water imaging acquisition by using inner volume selection as part of a gradient and spin echo sequence, and 2) to evaluate the accuracy of luminal water fractions and multicomponent T2 relaxation times. ⋯ The shortened scan duration allows the luminal water imaging sequence to be easily integrated into a standard multiparametric prostate MRI protocol.

To develop an improved k-space reconstruction method using scan-specific deep learning that is trained on autocalibration signal (ACS) data. ⋯ The RAKI method offers a training database-free deep learning approach for MRI reconstruction, with the potential to improve many existing reconstruction approaches, and is compatible with conventional data acquisition protocols.

To demonstrate the feasibility of noninvasively measuring pancreatic perfusion using pseudocontinuous arterial spin labeling (ASL) and to derive quantitative blood-flow and transit-time measurements in healthy volunteers. ⋯ ASL enables reliable measurement of pancreatic perfusion in healthy volunteers. It presents a valuable alternative to contrast-enhanced methods and may be useful for diagnosis and characterization of several inflammatory, metabolic, and neoplastic diseases affecting the pancreas.

The CEST experiment, with its correlation to rare proton species that are in exchange with the water pool, is very similar to the off-resonant water spin-lock (SL) experiment. In particular, low-power SL Z-spectrum acquisition allows insight into T1ρ and exchange effects with decreased direct water saturation. Because the available SL methods either require high B1 power or are instable in the presence of strong B1 and B0 inhomogeneity present at ultra-high fields, the goal of this study was to find a robust adiabatic SL pulse for on- and off-resonant application in the human brain at 9.4 T. ⋯ By adapting a pulse shape for low-power SL experiments, we were able to acquire robust on- and off-resonant adiabatic SL prepared images in vivo at 9.4 T. This development leads directly to SL Z-spectrum acquisition, beneficial for chemical-exchange-weighted MRI.

To enable whole-heart 3D coronary magnetic resonance angiography (CMRA) with isotropic sub-millimeter resolution in a clinically feasible scan time by combining respiratory motion correction with highly accelerated variable density sampling in concert with a novel 3D patch-based undersampled reconstruction (3D-PROST). ⋯ The proposed approach enables free-breathing whole-heart 3D CMRA with isotropic sub-millimeter resolution in <5 min and achieves improved coronary artery visualization in a short and predictable scan time.
