To develop a new approach to correct for physiological and macroscopic motion in multishot, interleaved echo-planar diffusion imaging. ⋯ The proposed method can effectively correct for physiological and macroscopic motion artifacts in multishot interleaved echo-planar imaging, generate high resolution diffusion images, and improve the accuracy of tensor calculation. Metabolite cycling (MC) is an MRS technique for the simultaneous acquisition of water and metabolite spectra that avoids chemical exchange saturation transfer effects and for which water may serve as a reference signal or contain additional information in functional or diffusion studies. Here, MC was developed for human investigations at ultrahigh field. ⋯ This work introduces a novel methodology for single-voxel MRS on a 9.4T whole-body scanner and highlights the advantages of semi-LASER compared to STEAM in terms of excitation profile. In comparison with MC-STEAM, MC-semi-LASER yields spectra with higher SNR. Magn Reson Med 79:1841-1850, 2018. © 2017 International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.

This work demonstrates a 3D radial multi-echo acquisition scheme for time-efficient sodium (23 Na) MR-signal acquisition and analysis. Echo reconstructions were used to produce signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)-enhanced 23 Na-images and parameter maps of the biexponential observed transverse relaxation time ( T2*) decay. ⋯ The proposed method offers an efficient 23 Na-imaging scheme that extends existing 23 Na-MRI sequences by acquiring signal decay information with no increase in time or specific absorption rate. The resultant SNR-enhanced 23 Na-images and estimated T2* signal decay characteristics offer great potential for detailed investigation of tissue compartment characterization and clinical application. To establish a novel approach for fast high-resolution spinal cord (SC) imaging using averaged magnetization inversion recovery acquisitions (AMIRA). ⋯ The AMIRA concept provides 2D spinal cord imaging with multiple tissue contrasts and enhanced contrast-to-noise ratios with a typical 0.67 × 0.67 mm2 in-plane resolution and a slice thickness between 4 mm and 8 mm acquired in only 1 to 2 min per slice. To demonstrate the feasibility of in vivo quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) in cardiac MRI and to show that mixed-venous oxygen saturation (SvO2 ) can be measured non-invasively using QSM. ⋯ In vivo cardiac QSM is feasible and can be used to measure SvO2 , but improvements in data acquisition are needed.
