Five common tests were used to diagnose meniscal tears when used as a composite score. We evaluated how effectively the composite examination, when performed in the presence of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury or degenerative joint disease (DJD), determined the presence of meniscal tears. ⋯ Level II, development of diagnostic criteria with consecutive patients and gold standard.

The purpose of this study was to compare outcomes of chondroplasty versus microfracture versus osteochondral autologous transplantation (OAT) in patients with osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLT). ⋯ Level I, Therapeutic study, high-quality randomized controlled trial with no statistically significant differences but narrow confidence interval.

To evaluate recently introduced sutures and suture anchors for single pull load to failure strength and failure mode. ⋯ Surgeons who prefer stronger sutures now have several high-strength suture options from which to choose. Most of the new anchors tested performed very well.
