Our aim was to evaluate the clinical results of patients treated by arthroscopically assisted reconstruction of foveal avulsion injury of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) using a suture anchor. ⋯ Level IV, therapeutic case series.
-
The purpose of this study was to assess a series of lateral inverted osteochondral fractures of the talus. ⋯ Level IV, therapeutic case series.

Comparison of intra-articular injections of plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF-Endoret) versus Durolane hyaluronic acid in the treatment of patients with symptomatic osteoarthritis: a randomized controlled trial.
The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety in a randomized, clinical trial of 3 injections of PRGF-Endoret (BTI Biotechnology Institute, Vitoria, Spain) versus one single intra-articular injection of Durolane hyaluronic acid (HA) (Q-MED AB, Uppsala, Sweden) as a treatment for reducing symptoms in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA). ⋯ Our findings show that PRGF-Endoret is safe and significantly superior to Durolane HA in primary and secondary efficacy analysis both at 24 and 48 weeks; provides a significant clinical improvement, reducing patients' pain and improving joint stiffness and physical function with respect to basal levels in patients with knee OA; and should be considered in the treatment of patients with knee OA.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the cytotoxic potency of local anesthetics on human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) before and after chondrogenic differentiation. ⋯ MSCs are applied for treatment of cartilage defects. Intra-articular application of local anesthesia is a common procedure in pain management and has shown chondrotoxic effects. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the impact of local anesthetics on human MSCs and regenerative cartilage tissue engineering.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate outcome and structural integrity after arthroscopic repair of large subscapularis tendon (SSC) tears at 2 to 4 years' follow-up. ⋯ Level IV, therapeutic case series.
