Adverse cutaneous reactions are rarely seen with antipsychotics. Exanthematous eruptions, skin pigmentation changes, photosensitivity, urticaria, and pruritus have been previously reported. We report a bruise-like rash in a 4-year-old boy with risperidone use. ⋯ Clinicians should be aware of a bruise-like skin rash as a rare adverse effect of risperidone. This is especially important for pediatric cases where physical abuse may be suspected. SIMILAR CASES PUBLISHED: None.

Transcatheter device closure of ventricular septal defects in children: a retrospective study at a single cardiac center.
Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is the most common congenital heart disease in the pediatric population. Nowadays, trans-catheter closure is considered a feasible method of therapy for most muscular and some perimembranous types of VSDs. ⋯ None.

Short-term outcomes after self-expandable metal stent insertion for obstructing colon cancer: a retrospective cohort study.
Self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) are used as a bridge to surgery for colon cancer patients as an alternative to emergency surgery. Currently, there is a paucity of literature from Saudi Arabia on the preoperative usage of SEMS. ⋯ None.

ReviewSaudi Heart Rhythm Society Task Force on Management of Potential Arrhythmogenicity Associated with Pharmacotherapy for COVID-19.
Evidence of cardiovascular complications associated with the COVID-19 global pandemic continues to evolve. These include direct and indirect myocardial injury with subsequent acute myocardial ischemia, and cardiac arrhythmia. Some results from a limited number of trials of antiviral medications, along with chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, have been beneficial. ⋯ Mitigation of the potential risk in these susceptible patients may prove exceptionally challenging. The Saudi Heart Rhythm Society established a task force to perform a review of this subject based on has recently published reports, and studies and recommendations from major medical organizations. The objective of this review is to identify high-risk patients, and to set clear guidelines for management of patients receiving these pharmacotherapies.

The prevalence of head and facial injuries among children in Saudi Arabia following road traffic crashes.
Motor vehicle crashes (MVCs) are the leading cause of death among children in Saudi Arabia. Childhood injuries can be prevented or minimized if safety measures, such as car seats, are implemented. The literature on the epidemiology of head and facial injury among children is limited, which affects the ability to understand the extent of the burden and hinders investment in public health prevention. ⋯ None.
