Outcomes of surgical repair of complete atrioventricular canal defect in patients younger than 2 years of age.
Early surgical management of complete atrioventricular (AV) canal defect is the optimal treatment option. Since the published evidence on outcomes is inconclusive, we retrospectively studied the outcomes of patients in our institution. ⋯ None.

Domestic violence and decision-making power of married women in Myanmar: analysis of a nationally representative sample.
Women in Myanmar are not considered decision makers in the community and the physical and psychological effect of violence makes them more vulnerable. There is a strong negative reaction, usually violent, to any economic activity generated by women among poorer and middle-class families in Myanmar because a woman's income is not considered necessary for basic survival. ⋯ None.

Prediction of hospital no-show appointments through artificial intelligence algorithms.
No-shows, a major issue for healthcare centers, can be quite costly and disruptive. Capacity is wasted and expensive resources are underutilized. Numerous studies have shown that reducing uncancelled missed appointments can have a tremendous impact, improving efficiency, reducing costs and improving patient outcomes. Strategies involving machine learning and artificial intelligence could provide a solution. ⋯ None.

Fluoroscopically guided interlaminar needle for lumbar disc herniation: a series of 43 patients.
Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is the most common cause of back and leg pain. We developed a specially designed needle and a minimally invasive interventional procedure to treat LDH. ⋯ None.

Clinical outcome and survival in 30 pulmonary hypertension patients with high severity indices and advanced functional class.
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is an idiopathic or secondary disorder associated with many systemic illnesses. Long-term survival in PH depends on the severity and functional class. Several new drugs are now available to treat PH, but their impact on clinical outcome and survival are not well established. ⋯ None.
