ReviewThe wish to hasten death in patients with life-limiting conditions. A systematic overview.
A systematic review of the wish to hasten death among people with life-limiting conditions was published in 2011. Since then, other reviews and primary studies have been published that have added to knowledge regarding the conceptual definition, aetiology and assessment of the wish to hasten death. ⋯ This overview underscores the need for clinical strategies that can identify different manifestations of the wish to hasten death among people with life-limiting conditions.

ReviewArtificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Cancer Pain: A Systematic Review.
Pain is a challenging multifaceted symptom reported by most cancer patients. This systematic review aims to explore applications of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) in predicting pain-related outcomes and pain management in cancer. ⋯ Implementation of AI/ML tools promises significant advances in the classification, risk stratification, and management decisions for cancer pain. Further research focusing on quality improvement, model calibration, rigorous external clinical validation in real healthcare settings is imperative for ensuring its practical and reliable application in clinical practice.

Advance care planning (ACP) is critical among primary care patients with cognitive impairment, but few interventions have tested ACP with this population. ⋯ Assessing the fidelity of ACP conversations involving primary care patients living with cognitive impairment and their care partners is feasible.

Multicenter StudyOutcomes of a Multi-Site Mentored Implementation Approach to Promoting Goals of Care Conversations.
The Preference-Aligned Communication and Treatment (PACT) Project is a multisite quality improvement effort that has been shown to increase the frequency of goals of care (GOC) conversations in hospitalized patients with serious illness. ⋯ A multisite mentored implementation quality improvement intervention for seriously ill hospitalized patients resulted in care aligned with goals and decreased resource utilization at the end of life.
