Observed complications during rigid bronchoscopy, including hypercarbia and hypoxemia, prompted us to assess how well rigid bronchoscopes serve as an airway device. We performed computer-aided design flow analysis of pediatric rigid bronchoscopes to gain insight into flow dynamics. ⋯ NA Laryngoscope, 126:1940-1945, 2016.

Previous studies report high-accuracy rates for intraoperative frozen sections, but reliability of frozen sections in predicting the ultimate final margin status is unknown. We compared frozen and permanent reads to identify risk factors for overall discrepancies between intraoperative and final margin status. ⋯ N/A. Laryngoscope, 126:1768-1775, 2016.

Thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) is a common congenital anomaly, but TGDC carcinoma is rare.
